Rules: * Any robot that does not compile will automatically be disqualified by the tournament-program, so please make sure they at least meet this requirement! :-) * Robots may be submitted either LOCKed or not, but if they are, they should still have comments as specified below: * All robots should have a header consisting of remarks/comments that include the name of the author, and the name of the robot. preferably it should also contain a description of the robot's style, and the date of completion. There should also be a notice that indicates whether or not you give permission to make the robot publically available. Also, I would like to see version numbers. These comments should be included whether or not the robot is LOCKed. Robots missing these comments will not be disqualified, just frowned upon. ;-\ * All robot programs are under copyright by their respective authors, and therefore will not be made publically available unless it is specifically authorized by the author in the header of the robot program. * During the competition, each robot will face every other robot in one-on-one combat. There will not be any group- battles. Each pairing (or bout) will consist of a minimum of 5 matches (probably more like 15 or 25). * The simulation will use the default setting of 5 for the robot time-slicing. The time limit per match will be 16,000 game cycles. * Robots will be taken on a first-come/first-serve basis as far as their names are concerned. If two robots come in with the same filename, the first one to arrive gets priority, and the later ones will be renamed. * SNIPER, the sample robot, will be entered into the competition as the author's champion (which give's you an advantage over at least one competitor!) :-) * Registering AT-Robots is NOT required to participate. (after all, money is not why I created AT-Robots) * Robots must be received by Monday, March 24, 1997. The results will be posted here, probably a few days later. * Robots may be submitted either by e-mail (in the message body or as a mime-compliant attachment), or by uploading them to the FTP site: ftp.necrobones.com in the directory /pub/atrobots/incoming (ftp uploads don't seem to be working at the moment, so e-mail may be the only choice). So what is the prize? The author of the highest ranking robot will get a free registration code! (this time, it is unlikely that this will be offered as a prize in future contests).
